The New York Jets are a NFL team. Originally a member of the AFL, the New York Titans joined the league in 1960. In 1963, the team was renamed the New York Jets after Sonny Werblin bought the team.
In 1968, Joe Namath guaranteed a Super Bowl III win over the Baltimore Colts, and the Jets won.
